Most faculty, staff and students should print to PawPrint if they can. If a local networked printer is set up for a team or work group, the following steps will describe how to set it up in Windows. Note: Students will not be able to print to these printers from their personal computers.
Set up the printer on your Windows 10 computer
- Before you start, you need the specific brand and model number of the printer (e.g. HP LaserJet 600 M602, Xerox WorkCentre 7545) and the network name (e.g. WAL315-PRT, MAR1C1).
- Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of your Windows desktop and type in printers to initiate a search.
- In the search results, select Devices and printers.
- On the resulting Devices and printers dialog box:
- Click on Add a printer in the upper left corner.
- On the Choose a device or printer to add to this PC dialog box:
- Click on The printer that I want isn't listed link in the lower left corner.
- On the Add printer dialog box:
- Click on the Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname radio button.
- Click on the Next button.
- Click on the Device type drop-down list box and select TCP/IP Device.
- Type in the network name of your printer in the Hostname or IP address field.
- Make sure the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use check box is not checked.

- If given a choice, double-click on the subfolder indicating a 64 bit driver.
- Double-click on the first .inf file in the list.
- Back on the Install from Disk dialog box, click on the OK button.
- Back on the Install the printer driver dialog box, select the appropriate printer model in the list and click on the Next button.

Add accounting codes (if necessary)
