Change your email signature in Microsoft Outlook on your Mac, Windows, iPhone or iPad

Outlook allows you to update your signature to a custom signature line. This article provides more information about how to access and update your signature settings, including using a custom Davidson signature.

Changing Your Signature in the Outlook App on your Phone or Tablet 

  1. Open the Outlook app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Tap the icon in the upper left corner of the Outlook screen. It appears as a home icon IMG_48347EC3BCD5-1.jpeg if you’re signed into multiple outlook accounts and your Outlook profile picture if you are not.

  3. Tap the Gear icon ios gear icon in the lower left corner of the opened sidebar.

  4. Scroll down, then choose Signature.

  5. Revise signature as desired. If you have never updated your signature in the Outlook app, you'll see the default Get Outlook for iOS signature line.

  6. Click on the existing signature line to open up signature edits. Write or copy in your desired signature information. Click the Checkmark when your changes are complete.

  7. To use a Davidson signature, first navigate to Davidson's Marketing Toolbox. Select your preferred signature template, and click Use this Template to download the associated Microsoft Word file. Open the downloaded file, customize your details in Word, then copy and paste content directly from Word into Outlook's signature creation area. Edit the signature to include your personal information, then click the Checkmark.

 

Changing your Signature using Outlook in a Web Browser

  1. Open a new tab in any web browser, navigate to outlook.davidson.edu and log in with your Davidson email address and password if prompted.

  2. Select the settings gear icon, located in the top right-hand corner.

  3. In the search bar labeled “Search settings” type in email signature. Or, click on the Mail icon and then choose Compose and reply

  4. In the box that appears below the Email signature heading, personalize how you want your signature to appear. Click Save when your changes are complete.

    To use a Davidson signature, first navigate to Davidson's Marketing Toolbox.
    Select your preferred signature template, and click Use this Template to download the associated Microsoft Word file. Open the downloaded file, customize your details in Word, then copy and paste content directly from Word into Outlook's signature creation area. Edit the signature to include your personal information, then click Save.

    Note: Please select the email signature template without logos and social icons if using Outlook in a web browser, as images do not copy over appropriately from Word to Outlook's web application.

  5. You can also click on +New signature to create a new blank signature. You have the option to toggle between multiple signatures.

  6. Scroll down to find more options. Under Select default signatures set how you want your signature to appear New Messages and Replies/Forwards.

 

Changing your Signature using the Outlook Application on Your Computer

  1. Open the Outlook application.

  2. Choose Outlook, then Settings from the top menu bar.

  3. Choose Signatures.

  4. Click on a signature name to highlight it, then choose Edit. You can also make a new signature by clicking on the + sign. Edit the signature to include your personal information, then click Save when your changes are complete.

  5. Under Choose default signature set how you want your signature to appear New Messages and Replies/Forwards.
