Occasionally, Moodle grades are not visible to students. Sometimes the reason is logical, sometimes not. The steps below describe several different ways to solve the problem.
If one grade is missing...
- Launch Moodle (https://moodle.davidson.edu) and open your course.
- In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the "gear" icon to open the course settings.
- On the resulting drop-down list, click on Gradebook setup.
- Find the quiz/grade that is missing. In the Actions column, select Hide in the Edit drop-down list box.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save changes.
- Once again, find the quiz/grade that is missing. In the Actions column, select Show in the Edit drop-down list box.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save changes.
Note:
The above steps are a workaround addressing what appears to be a bug in Moodle 3.1. Please confirm grades are visible by using a test user in your course.
If the missing grade is a quiz that is still open (no close date)...
- Launch Moodle (https://moodle.davidson.edu) and open your course.
- Open the quiz.
- In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the "gear" icon to open the course settings.
- On the resulting drop-down list, click on Edit settings.
- Scroll down and open the Review options section.
- In the third column labeled Later, while the quiz is still open, make sure that all check boxes are checked.
- Scroll down and click on the Save and return to course button.
If all grades are missing...
- Launch Moodle (https://moodle.davidson.edu) and open your course.
- In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the "gear" icon to open the course settings.
- On the resulting drop-down list, click on Edit settings.
- Scroll down and open the Appearance section.
- In the Show gradebook to students drop-down list box, select Yes.
- Scroll down and click on the Save and display button.
