Virtual Private Network (VPN) Overview

SUMMARY

Davidson College provides a modern, flexible Virtual Private Network (VPN) system through Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN. 

When a user connects to VPN, a secure line of communication between the user’s device and the Davidson network is established. This secure connection also encrypts the data, adding another layer of data security.

AVAILABILITY

Available to faculty and staff employees with college-issued computers. All Davidson-managed devices eligible for VPN usage should be automatically installed with the Palo Alto GlobalConnect VPN software.

GlobalConnect is only installed on Davidson-managed devices, and is not intended for use on personal devices. Access to the VPN software on mobile devices is available on a case-by-case basis. Contact ti@davidson.edu for more information.
