About: Course participant roles in Moodle 4 - FACULTY

Moodle course participants are each assigned a role for that course. Role choices are:

  • Teacher: Full manager or co-manager of the course site with full access and editing rights to the course site. Can access grades, assignment submissions, etc.
  • Teacher (Non-Editing): Access to assignment submissions, grades, communication tools, etc., but cannot edit course contents or their arrangement.
  • Teacher (Non-Evaluated): Same as Teacher, but does not appear on course evaluation forms at the end of the semester.
  • Student: Full participant in the course. Can see all course materials made available to students by the instructor, complete assignments and receive grades, etc.
  • Students (Incomplete): Users assigned this role continue to have Student access to the course even after the semester is finished and the course close date has passed.
  • Students (Blocked Access): User remains enrolled in the course, but has no access to course materials.
  • AT: Can access most, but not all, course aspects.
  • AT (Editing): Has the right to edit course contents, but cannot give or alter grades.
  • AT (Editing & Grading): Has the right to edit course contents, and can give/edit grades.
  • Guest/Auditor: Can view course materials, but not participate.
