Google Drive replaced Dropbox as Davidson’s primary cloud storage and file sharing solution on December 13, 2021. All files and folders from Davidson-owned personal and departmental Dropbox folders have now been migrated to Google Drive. For more information, visit the project support page.
This article will walk you through the process of transitioning college data to your department, as well as transferring any personal data you would like to retain to a personal account, prior to your last day. We will work with you to ensure a smooth transition as you leave Davidson. We are committed to your continued success and stand ready to support you on this journey.
Your email account will be deactivated at the close of business 90 days after your final day of employment and subsequently deleted 360 days after your final day of employment. Access to Davidson College services will cease when your email account is deactivated. This includes access to Outlook, Shared Mailboxes, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Moodle, Qualtrics, and any other services the college provides that you currently access using your Davidson College email and network password.
Before You Depart
- Transition College Data

- Transfer ownership of college data that your department will need to retain to a designated faculty member. (i.e. Qualtrics surveys, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive data)
- Transfer Personal Data
- Outlook Auto Reply
- Create an auto-reply in Outlook detailing your employment status, last day of employment, personal email address, and any other pertinent information you would like to share.
Last Day of Employment
- Return all Davidson College-owned assets assigned to you, including but not limited to computers (desktop and/or laptop), tablets, and other technology-related devices to Technology & Innovation.
