Install Stata on Your Office or Lab Computer - Faculty

The Stata statistics program can be installed by any faculty member on their office or research lab computers. To install Stata on your Davidson computer, you must be:

• On campus connected to the Davidson network via a wired network connection; or,
• On campus connected to the eduroam wireless networks; or,
• Off campus connected to the Davidson network via VPN.

Windows

1. Click on the Windows Start button in the lower left corner of the Windows desktop.
2. Type software center and Windows will automatically begin searching your hard drive.
3. In the search results, click on the Software Center app.
4. In the left panel, click on Applications.
5. Click on the large Stata/IC icon to launch the installation.
6. Click on the Install button.
7. Click on the OK button to clear the message regarding Stata/IC licensing.
8. Click on the OK button once the installation is complete.
9. Finally, you will also need license information from Technology & Innovation. Please send an email to ti@davidson.edu to request this information.

macOS

1. Click on the Spotlight icon (tiny magnifying glass) in the upper right corner of your screen.
2. In the Search field, type self service and press the enter key.
3. In the Categories frame to the left of the Self Service window, click on Apps (Licensed).
4. Click on the word Install under the large Stata/IC icon to launch the installation.
5. On the Stata/IC dialog box, click on the Install button.
6. Click on the Close button to finish the installation.
