JMP is a data analysis tool licensed by Davidson College. License renewal is required annually. The program's name has changed from JMP Pro to JMP Student Edition, but the program itself is unchanged. Note that Student edition is also what is used by faculty.
Allowed uses and users:
- Davidson faculty on their office and research computers, and
- Faculty and students on their personally owned computers,
- For "original academic work".
- Cannot be used for "institutional research and other administrative uses related to the operation or improvement" of the college.
The installer and license are now obtained directly from JMP's website.
- Visit https://www.jmp.com/student .
- Click "Try JMP for free".
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your eligibility, download and run the installer, and activate the license.
You will need to repeat this process every 12 months to obtain the latest version and an updated license.
