HDMI/Laptop Connections in Classrooms and Conference room spaces

Most classroom and conference room spaces on campus provide an HDMI input and cable to connect a laptop or other external device to the AV system in the room. This allows you to use your Davidson College issued or personal laptop computer to present in the space.

To utilize this connection feature:

Step 1 - Ensure that the AV system is on and set to the correct Input. This input is typically labeled "HDMI", although, in some spaces, you will also see the input labeled as "Laptop" or "Main" with an image of a laptop associated with it.

Step 2 - Plug the HDMI cable directly into your HDMI input on your laptop*

*Newer model laptop computers, both from Apple and other manufacturers, require the use of an adapter or "dongle" to connect the HDMI cable to your laptop. We have provided these adapters in most classroom teaching spaces (if you encounter a room that does not have these adapters, please email us at ti@davidson.edu and let us know)
