Reconfigure Davidson email to use supported authentication methods (Mobile Devices)

As part of our expanding use of Duo, we our continuing our efforts to provide a more secure environment for all Davidson users. If you are currently using basic authentication methods to access Davidson email, contacts and calendars on a mobile device, will now be required to transition to modern authentication, to further protect the Davidson community from bad actors attempting to compromise user accounts.  You can transition your mobile device configuration to modern authentication using these instructions.

The Microsoft Outlook app provides the best user experience when accessing your Davidson College email and calendar on mobile devices.

List of mobile applications that support Modern Authentication:

  • Native Mail app on iOS 11.x+
  • Outlook on iOS version 10.x and greater
  • Outlook on Android

Android

Android users may attempt to use the native Android mail app, but these apps may not support the use of multi-factor authentication.  We recommend the Microsoft Outlook app to access your email and calendar. Installation instructions for Android devices can be found here.

iPhone

We recommend the Microsoft Outlook app to access your email and calendar. Installation instructions for iOS devices can be found here.

If you choose to use the mail app native to your device, you must first remove the existing account currently using basic authentication.
