HOW TO: Download recordings from Zoom cloud storage

Zoom cloud storage has limited capacity, so it is imperative that each user monitors their stored recordings, periodically downloading recordings for storage in another shareable location with fewer capacity limits (we recommend Google Drive), or archiving off-line. This article outlines the procedure for downloading recordings stored in Zoom cloud.

  1. Begin by signing into zoom.davidson.us using your Davidson credentials.

  2. Next, locate the Recordings heading in the left column and click it to open your stored recordings list. (By default, the list opens to the Cloud Recordings tab. If for any reason you are in Local Recordings, click Cloud Recordings to open that tab.) The main body of the page contains a list of your stored recordings, showing the topic, ID number, and file count and total size of each.

  3. Notice that the file count and size entry (ex. 2 files (8MB)) is a link. Click it to open the page for that specific recording.

  4. On this page there is a Download button. Click it to download all files associated with this recording. (Be sure to approve the download if requested by your browser.)
  5. After the download finishes and you verify that the files have transferred correctly, you can remove the recording from Zoom Cloud storage by clicking the trashcan icon on the recording information page, or use these instructions to bulk delete multiple recordings.

Note: The number of files associated with a recording will vary depending on your settings, but any recording will typically have a video, along with an audio only track. You can download or delete individual files associated with a particular recording by mousing over their names in the file listing of the recording information window, and clicking the appropriate icons.

Once your files are downloaded, you can store them wherever you like. T&I recommends using your Google Drive for unlimited storage and shareability.

Pro Tip: If you’re downloading lots of files all at once, save a step by setting your download location to your Google Drive in your browser’s settings/preferences.
