Getting Started with Zoom Phone

Zoom Phone will replace Cisco as Davidson's telephone provider on June 30, 2022. On this date, all Davidson faculty and staff with college phone numbers will begin using Zoom Phone to make and receive phone calls. For questions about the Zoom Phone transition, please email ti@davidson.edu.

The Zoom application is installed on all Davidson-managed devices. Zoom Phone is accessed by clicking on the Zoom Phone phone icon on the top menu bar when Zoom is open. Many settings for Zoom are accessed through the web portal at zoom.davidson.edu

 

About Zoom Phone

Zoom Phone is an extension of the Zoom app you already are familiar with, and provides a streamlined solution for answering and making calls on mobile devices, desktops, and desk phones. The transition to Zoom Phone will also provide you more flexibility for receiving and making calls from your Davidson number, and an easy way to dial colleagues with or without a desk phone.

Zoom Phone is accessed through the Zoom application on your phone or mobile device. The Zoom application is installed on all Davidson-managed devices. Zoom Phone is accessed by clicking on the Zoom Phone phone icon on the top menu bar when Zoom is open.

Zoom Phone settings are accessed through the Zoom Web Portal.

Phones and Bluetooth Devices

Bluetooth Devices

If you requested a Bluetooth device, you can pick it up at T&I Main on Mondays through Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. If you'd like a Bluetooth device to use with Zoom Phone, but didn't submit your response before the request deadline, you can still come by T&I Main during the times above to choose an available device in person.


Phones

If you requested a desk phone, they will be delivered to offices and common spaces in Mid June. Please follow the instructions left with the new Zoom Phone-enabled Poly phone to activate the phone after June 30 at 11:30 am.

If you have not yet requested a desktop phone to use with Zoom Phone, but would like to see if one is available for your office, please email ti@davidson.edu.
