Different offices support specific AV needs on campus. In general, T&I supports instruction, and Special Events and Event Services (SEES) supports events. The kind of activity decides who helps you, not the room you’re in.
AV for Instruction: Technology & Innovation
Contact T&I if a class or other teaching activity is having technical trouble, including a classroom emergency that interrupts instruction. T&I also handles AV equipment that is broken, missing, or needs repair in any room, as well as installing, maintaining, and upgrading AV systems.
Clicking on a Classroom Help button will notify T&I.
Reach the T&I Support Center at ti@davidson.edu or 704-894-2900.
AV for Events: Special Events and Event Services (SEES)
Contact SEES for event setup, a pre-event equipment check, or staff to run technology during your event.
This applies to events happening in classrooms, the Union meeting rooms, auditoriums, the Congregation House, and any other campus space. Please note, the Duke Family Performance Hall is supported by the College Union, not the SEES team.
SEES can also provide extra equipment, such as additional microphones, and its Digital Events team runs Zoom and hybrid meetings during events.
You request SEES resources and support as part of the Ad Astra booking process. Reservation requests should be placed in Ad Astra at least 5 business days prior to your event date. Your request will then move through the space approval process. If any ETS resources are selected in your space reservation, you will hear from an Event Technology Specialist to confirm or clarify details.
Reach the SEES Team at eventtech@davidson.edu.
